mood:
the neighbors dog is fucking barking incessantly. sweet jesus.
jeff picked me up this morning for a day of bombing around in his volkswagen, hitting up every yard sale this side of the mississippi in hopes of finding suitable lamps for his new portland apartment.
he's quite excited for this move. i am excited for him on many levels. he needs the change, as well as the independance that comes along with moving a bit further away from his off and on girlfriend. i know he will totally dig the city life and definately meet new people. jeff deserves that.
it was fantastic spending the day with him. we hadn't hung out for more than an hour or so in a long time. we had fun. smoking camel filters, eating bunless hotdogs (okay, he ate pizza, i ate a hotdog sans bun), and rummaging through other peoples junk. oh how i love thifting and yard sales.

.: vintage red samsonite suitcase - free
.: apple computer, early 80's, entire system - $4

jeff managed to get lots of stuff for his place...lamps, shades, silverware set, t-shirt, dishes, etc.
fun stuff.
maybe i should lay off on the thifting, considering nick's family and mine had a barn sale last weekend and the point was to get RID of stuff.
an old irish lady was chatting me up while waiting in line at the salvation army one afternoon. after commenting on the wonderful stainless steel pasta maker i was picking up for $2.50, she said to me, "you know, this is a disease....thift shopping. it's an addiction." she then proceeded to take my card and tell me she was going to call me when she got to cleaning out the three rooms of her house that are full of her thift store finds.
yikes.
